Kings’ Academy, Bradford

Kings Academy opened in 2011 after being developed on the site of a former industrial estate. The ‘free’ school receives funding direct from the Government and though being subject to the same Ofsted inspections as conventional comprehensives, are not required to teach the National Curriculum. The school aims to help pupils from the poorest of families and since it launched in 2011 has gone from strength to strength. Schofield Contracting constructed the 278 works which involved the installation of a signalised crossing, kerb realignment, resurfacing and white-lining.
