Due to the merger between Leeds Grammar School and Leeds Girls High School the existing school site at Alwoodley Gates was extensively redeveloped. Part of this re-development work involved construction of a dedicated slip road off the A61 to serve the school, and total re-modelling of the Alwoodley Lane/Leeds Road signalised junction. Complex traffic management phasing allowed the work to be completed over an 18 week period with very little disruption to the school and residents around Alwoodley. The contract was completed for the start of the 2008 Autumn term. Ex Leeds Utd boss Gary McAllister, a regular visitor through the area, seemed impressed with the professionalism and conduct of the workforce!
